Scan day

In the morning, Micah has a scan at 7:30am. The scan could last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours.  Could you please pray that Micah will have peace and that he will be able to lay quietly, hold his breath when told, for as long as he needs to?  Scan times are still hard for us. But regardless of what happens tomorrow and  in the days following, as we wait and receive Micah's scan results, we know and trust that God is faithful, is always good, never changes and has Micah and our whole family in His hand. What a comfort!  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."                                                                    Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

Right now.

There are some neat things in Grand Rapids that you don't see in Canada.... The amount of Christian schools is amazing. It takes between 12 and 20 minutes to get Josh to school depending on traffic. I bet we see 4 Christian schools in that small amount of time.  On that same drive we  see tons of businesses with dutch last names. There are also sooooo many churches. I think those things are so neat. It kind of feels like a community even though it's really not! (o: We don't live in the dutch part of Grand Rapids. There are areas that are rather dutchy. I was going to say they are east of us, but I have no idea. I think in left and right, not west and east! (o: Micah also commented that more people pick their noses while they are driving here than in Canada. It could be. What is happening right now..... Grace is outside eating popcorn in her pajamas with wet socks from the grass and wearing Siah's sweater.... ..... while the kids play roof ball with

Hello...

Everything is moving a long just fine here!(o: My super crazy girl. Her facial expression, was putting on a look! (o: Homeschooling is going very well. I am appreciating that the three kids work very well together. The subjects that are not core subjects, I teach to all three at the same time. It is really great. I am excited to see what this year will bring in regards to academic growth for the kids. This year we are home more often. In the past years we did gymnastics, KENA(sports and some classes with our homeschool group) and  piano lessons. I loved doing those things and they were great for the kids, but they did cut into our schooling time. It is so nice to be home every day. Our school days are much more relaxed and we accomplish a lot. I finally understand why some moms choose to take a year or semester off from all activity. It really makes sense.  Although, next year I would like to look into putting the kids into some classes of some sort. I think it is good for them t

First Day and all that!

First day, first day.... (o: It's so cute to look on facebook and see all the first day school pictures. I wonder how many bus drivers make sure they look extra spiffy today because the know their pictures will be taken roughly 37 times! (O: We have been schooling at home for a week already and Ken has been in school for a week too. So really Josh is the only one having his first day.  Last night, Ken and Josh went to east GR (the pretty part), for coffee. They had a nice time out to chat and just spend one on one time.  It's so good for them to do that.  Josh packed his pack last night and made sure his clothes were ready. Getting up at 7 for him is an accomplishment in its self! He is not a get up kind of guy. When we schooled at home I had to drag him out at 8.  He was nervous this morning, but still had some smiles. We prayed together as a family and I hugged my boy so tight. I cried, but tried to be a big girl especially since I already cried last nigh
