This and That.

We have blessed by our little lady's presence for 6 months and 16 days. She is getting so old. I can't believe it is going so quickly. This past week, I set up the playpen and she loves to sit in it and play. She will sit in there between half an hour to an hour. She thinks it's fun. Yeah for her. Yeah for me! (o: Ken is on holidays now. We LOVE holidays. We have no routine. Our project last week was to scrape our bedroom ceiling and paint it. It was HORRIBLE. The walls were burgundy and the ceiling was sharp plaster and done very poorly. So we scraped it, sanded it,  and then painted the walls a brownish greyish color. It looks a thousand times better. It`s not perfect by any means. No really, its not at all! I say just don't look at it sideways in the light and it looks great! (o: It`s fresh and clean and I like it. Now onward HO to the rest of the house. It needs a paint job badly! We have put it off for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons was that we were wor

Thank you Lord!!!!!

We are so thankful for the blessings that the Lord has given us. I have said it so many times to people, in updates and on this blog. But it just must be said over and over. Last year on the many days that we thought would be our "last" with Micah, we would think ahead to the same time next year with dread. Well, this year, we have started school, we have had October, November, it is now December and we are more than half way to January. Micah is turning 9 on January 7. Imagine that! Ken is done school for 2 weeks, this past Friday we opened presents with our little family and yesterday we had our Sunday School Christmas program. We have some family dinners coming up and we hope to celebrate News Years Eve together. These are all things we were quite sure we would be doing without Micah this year. WELL... MICAH. IS. HERE. That is me yelling really loud and with lots of emphasis. (o: When Micah stood up at the front of the church, singing songs and saying the poem wit

Micah + 20 lbs

Micah and I were just looking at pictures from his time on treatment.  I wish I was blogging then. I would have been able to document them all, so neat and tidy.  In the future, when I have more time I would love to write about Micah's last 3 years and include all the Micah updates and pictures from that time. It would be a neat way to remember. Although the pictures serve as a reminder of hard times, we still look at them. I am not sure why. Micah went from a normal size little man, to such a small little guy, to a hulk that we don't recognize. Today when we were looking at the pictures we came across pictures of Micah when he was on steroids. We laughed so hard. It is much easier to look at his chubby pictures and be able to laugh rather than looking his sickly, skinny pictures and wanting to cry. At least we know that when he was chubby like this that the cancer was actually gone.  It has been a while since we looked at them. I really wouldn't recognize him walking dow

Just relaxing....

Ahhhhhhh Saturday morning.......  Saturday is the day we do all the things that we couldn't get done during the week. Doing wash is always a good thing! (o: But it starts off nice and relaxed. I love home days with my family. I just took this picture 20 minutes ago and couldn't resist sharing! Grace's bulging diaper, shows you just how relaxed our morning has been. Poor girl! Now I  have to get going and actually accomplish something! I should probably start by getting our almost teenager out of bed and making Josiah and Micah put pants on (o:

Through the Storm A Year Later

Anniversaries have become a big thing for us. We have always remembered birthdays and wedding anniversaries of course. We remember the month Ken and I started dating, ( Aug 1993 - That is a long time to have a boyfriend! I love him a million times more than that day.... Just in case you wanted to know (: ) and various other days that are special to us. But now we have many anniversaries that we remember that involve Micah. There are some good ones, like Sept 2008, when we got the first scan that showed no cancer since he was diagnosed. Feb 2009, he was officially done treatment. In June 2009, he was able to go completely off steroids. There are more good ones, but I would have to say the majority of the anniversaries are sad ones.  DECEMBER 7, 2009 is a day that will forever be imprinted in our minds. It was relapse day. That Monday, the 7th, Micah went down for a chest XRAY. I always stand with the tech behind the wall and look at the computer screen. When I saw that image come up

From this week......

Here are my favourite pictures that I took this week. I thought it would be a little more varied. But I have realized that I still take the most pictures of Grace by far. (: Here is the nasty bib again! (: I tried a bow in her hair. It is not quite long enough yet. I can't wait! Ken grew a beard for Movember (raising $ for prostate cancer). You are supposed to grow a mustache, but that just wouldn't work for him.  I think I like it. It has been shaved off. But he may grow it back yet!   My ladies. Check out his bedtime reading materials..... Maybe he's our doctor! (: Their favourite pass time. Do you think they are related? The piggies are very appropriate. I am sad this dress is almost too small. It is so her. It is comfy and cozy.
