Words and Pictures.
(I didn't proof read this at all. So excuse the missing words, too many words, poor grammar and sentence structure. I just don't care today!) (o:
I just have to start out with this picture. It is soooo Grace. The color is terrible, but it's still cute. Later this week I will do a post with about 10 pictures that I took in 3 minutes. They are all different and show her personality. I love her hair and her dimples. (o;
I have been writing lately, but they are just not getting published. I just can't word them right. I need to just sit and think about them some more.
I have to say that I am soooo burnt. MON-U-MENTALLY burnt. I have darker skin and rarely burn. This year I haven't really had time to be outside relaxing. Yesterday we went to the beach. It was so beautiful. The weather was perfect. It was great to just go out together. But, boy do I hurt. It's small in the big scheme, but it still hurts! (o:
We live in front of a highschool. So behind our fence there is a parking lot and then a big field beside that. The kids love playing baseball on that field. It's a huge blessing.
We were told that when we moved in that there would be marching band practice in the field and parking lot behind our house. I thought that was kind of neato to be honest. Marching bands are not all that common in Canada. Here they are huge. We love watching marching bands in parades.
Well...... Day 2 of practice and I am saying, WOWSA WOOOSA LOUD. It's kind of neat when the whole band plays together. At least it's music. But it seems like the percussion section needs extra practice. I feel like we are being called to war. Just imagine when the windows are open in the fall. YIKERS. I called my friend Aileen and let her listen on the phone and she laughed! Good thing I looooove my house and wouldn't trade it. (o:
We also have a parking lot beside us. It used to belong to the church across the street. No one parks there. The school bought it and they just use it for workers to go in and out. So we have an empty parking lot for most of the day. It actually attaches to our drive way. So the kids can bike down the drive way onto the parking lot, onto the sidewalk and back to our driveway. Yes? Well Siah, has fallen in love with biking and drives that little loop ALLLLLLLL day. He is counting the times he goes around. He started last week and is at about 750. I forgot to ask him before he went to bed what number he is on. He could be at 800. Oh, he just got our of bed and he told me is 827. Haha. Nutso.
Siah is a kid who up to a month ago would not sit on a bike. He thought it was dumb. He just had no use for it. All of the sudden he got on and started riding. I was worried he would be 12 and not riding a bike. I also realized that I had never seen him sweat before he started this counting thing. That makes me laugh. I am glad he is loving it.
I let him stay up right now because the drumming is too loud. He just did 828 and 829! (o:
Life is pretty relaxed right now. We are quite settled. I know Josh and Micah hurt sometimes though. I am so thankful that we have had this time as a family. We have not been relaxed in months really. I know Ken is going to be so busy with school when it starts. It actually makes me nervous. Family time is so important to all of us. Ken has always made it such a huge priority in his life. I am so thankful for that. But as he starts school, I am not so sure we will have close to the family time we have had in the last years. I think it will be a challenge to balance his school work with all of us. We will have to learn to patient and understanding. I will learn to be giving of the time that I think should be mine! I wouldn't say I am a high maintenance wife, I just really like him a lot! (o;
We have registered Josh for school officially. That is so exciting. I love to see him truly excited. He gets a special smile when we talk about school. In this school they don't have semesters. They do an 8 period day all year long. So he will have Old Testiment Survey, Math, PE/Art or Band, Intro to Literature, Health/ Logic, Earth Science, World History and Study Hall. The subjects with a slash share the time slot. So one will have 3 periods a week and the other 2 periods a week in that time. I am excited about these courses. They sounds great! We have been truly blessed. Now we just have to figure out a way to get him there and Ken to school in good time! (o;
I am excited to start schooling the rest of them. It is kind of exciting to have kids all around the same age. Because Siah is so quick, it is easy to lump them together for some things like science and history. So the core will all be separate, but bible, science and history will be together. That is so nice.
We are going to St Thomas tomorrow, so I need to pack. The house is already cleaned so I can relax and get ready to go! So nice. I am nervous to go back and visit. We are settling nicely here. I don't want the kids to be sad when we have to leave. Plus it will be busy. Ken has a dentist appt. Josh an doc appt. Micah a flush appt. The van has an appt to be fixed. We have to do health card stuff. The van needs to be e-tested and we have to get our sticker. There is one more thing, I just can't remember. Ken and I would love to leave the kids at parents and go out for a few hours and we would like to visit all our people. That is nuts busy.
I have to say one more thing. I LOVE cleaning my house. I was never on top of of things. I never had time. I think it was because I cleaned the church. But now I have time to clean it from top to bottom every week and it feels marvelous. My walls and floors are sparkly. The whole thing is vacuumed. There is a llllooooot of carpet. I think we are going to have to steam clean at least once a year. It's hard to keep it clean. I am truly thankful for such a small thing. Time to clean my house is a blessing.
I have so many pictures to post..... more another day! (o:

Our parking lot. (As Siah calls it!) The kids bike, play hockey, tennis, rollerblade etc.. on here. It's awesome. |

Walking to our beach spot. Of course Siah is 20 steps behind because he had toooo much to carry and it was soooooo heavy! (o: |

He was excited about 2 of something! (O: |
Just relaxing. |
I have so many pictures to post..... more another day! (o:
Great update! Glad you are all doing well! Excited to see you on Sunday! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear things are going well. Love Josh's hat in the last photo--represent!
ReplyDelete(As a marching band percussionist geek, I must correct your term "percussion section". In a marching band, it's called a drum line. Now you can be accurate!)
