In Christ Alone our Hope is Found

Our little sweet thing is 6 years old. There is just no doubt that Grace's birth was one of the sweetest days of our lives. One of my favorite picture of all time. Grace's first moments She was born in the middle of our storm. Micah had relapsed the December before. He had surgery a few months before. We were just coming up to his first scan since surgery to see if any cancer remained. She was induced on my due date so we could have her home for a few weeks of normal in case the scan showed cancer. The midwives suggested that. They took such good care of me in more than just the physical. The moment she cried, I remember Ken and I looking at each other and joy flooding our hearts. It was the day that Ken's smiles came back after months of sadness and the unknown. She has been our sunshine ever since. Her big eyes, soft cheeks, dimples and chubby hands still make us smile. In these 3 minutes we talked about trees, cars, flowers and teeth. I did the talking she just smiled and talked in her own little way with her hands. She is getting more words, but she still communicates more with actions.   I really want to get these edited to make them look nicer.  When wedding season is over, I will maybe send them to Julie to edit! This is my Grace this morning just before breakfast. I have to document it. She just looked so cute and big in her mis-matched jammies. The shirt that goes with the pants is too hot, so I have to switch the shirts around! Her hair is so big, she has 2 decent sized barretts lost in there somewhere! I couldn't get her to smile so I started singing her and my favourite song. She started singing right away. Still singing.... Finally a smile! (O: This is picture number 15 and she is saying, "What more do you want? I sang and smiled and now I am done! (O: I love this little lady!

I have to warn you that this post is not all that interesting. I just have to document this, so I don`t forget! (O:   This little girlie here is 18 months and 7 days old. Her little sparkly eyes melt my heart. Her little chubby, dimpled hands make me smile and I want to keep her in a bottle and never lose sight of this time. She is getting more independant and has realized that she doesn't need to listen. I can see her deciding whether to come when I call. I seem to be getting a "NO" quite often. We have some work to do. She is still very much in love with Ken. When he comes home, she yells Dad, Dad, Dad and doesn't stop until he picks her up. When he does, she rubs his shoulder and is so content. The joy she has brought us in the last 18 months is unspeakable. We thank the Lord for this spunky little lady! The big news is that she has moved into a toddler bed. Wowsa, it's crazy! This happened 10 minutes ago.... Grace loves her cousin Jack and loves her dolls. She thought that Jack would make a great doll! Check out the post nap hair! (O: I love how her little hands are holding him.

My girl is almost 17 months. She is growing and we are really enjoying her. She is turning into a bit of a girlie girl. She is loving dolls and likes to feed them with a bottle. One minute she will be treating them nicely, the next she will be throwing them like they just bit her. She loves grapes, orange juice drink boxes and her bunny lunny. She loves to suck the tips of markers and bite the ends of crayons off. When it's bedtime, she will walk to room and say "bedtime", in her own little way. She has learned to fold her hands nicely during prayer. She doesn't do it the whole prayer but we are getting there. After the prayer sometimes she will keep her hands folded and raise them above her head and shakes them, like she is a prize fighter who just won a fight! She LOVES music!
